1976
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research establishes its first internal machine shop. -
1980
The official Quality Manual of Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is established to ensure consistency, quality, and testing standards. -
1984
The second major expansion of Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research facility increases mechanical testing capabilities. -
1990
The third major expansion of Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research facility increases Metallographic & Fracture testing capabilities. -
1992
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research obtains its first Nadcap accreditation and becomes accredited for materials testing and nonmetallic materials testing in global cooperation for aerospace engineering, defense and related industries. -
1995
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research obtains its first A2LA accreditation and becomes accredited in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration of Laboratories. -
2000
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research builds World Headquarters location in Youngstown, Pennsylvania. -
2003
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research expands global capacity and services; Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research, Limited is established in Banbury, United Kingdom. -
2008
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research establishes new Aluminum Center of Excellence building. -
2014
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research expands its Stress and Creep Rupture Testing laboratory. -
2015
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research Limited increases testing capacity with expansion of facilities and laboratories by three times; increasing the range of testing services, overall capacity, and turnaround times. The facility is Nadcap accredited and a2la ISO 17025 accredited. -
2015
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research establishes Composite Center of Excellence building, significantly enhancing composites testing services. -
The Future
Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research expands its leadership to Adrian Rossi, who holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering; and Jeff Rossi, who holds a B.S. in Engineering Sciences.
